JFSLA Community Impact Network Plus (CIN Plus)

A Leadership Experience in Partnership with Coro X

Are you ready to deepen your leadership impact and strengthen your ability to serve your community?

This year, JFSLA is partnering with Coro California to offer Community Impact Network Plus (CIN Plus), a six-month leadership development experience designed for individuals who are ready to develop the knowledge, networks, and confidence to make a meaningful impact as community leaders, advocates and engaged volunteers, including those interested in future committee and board service.

Building on the foundation of the Community Impact Network (CIN), CIN Plus offers an enhanced leadership experience with a strong focus on leadership development, governance, strategic thinking, and community impact. Through Coro California’s leadership development model and JFSLA’s community-centered approach, participants will gain practical leadership skills, build meaningful relationships, and learn from experts across JFSLA’s service areas about the critical issues affecting our community and the innovative programs addressing them.

Through CIN Plus, participants will explore what it means to lead with purpose, strengthen nonprofit organizations, and create lasting change across our community.

In Partnership with Coro X

Through our partnership with Coro X, CIN Plus combines JFSLA’s deep knowledge of nonprofit service and community impact with Coro’s more than 80 years of experience developing leaders across sectors. Coro’s experiential, learn-by-doing approach helps participants strengthen critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and the adaptive leadership skills needed to navigate complex challenges and lead with purpose.

Develop Your Voice as an Advocate:

Have the opportunity to represent JFSLA at the JPAC Capitol Summit in Sacramento—an intensive, hands-on advocacy experience where you’ll meet with state legislators, share your story, and push for policies that support vulnerable Angelenos and advance social justice.

Network with Mentors:

Work alongside JFSLA Board members, senior staff, and program alumni who will guide and support your leadership journey.

What to Expect

Program Includes:

  • 1 Sunday Retreat
  • 5 Evening Sessions (in-person, with dinner provided)
    • Session Topics Include:
  • CIN Plus participants will explore:
    • Leading from Where You Are: Values, Identity & Purpose
      • Explore personal values, leadership identity, and the ways each person can make an impact. Participants will examine the fundamental values that guide human services, with special attention to the “J” in JFSLA and the role of Jewish values in creating a more just and caring community
    • Self-Awareness, Relationship Building & Community Connection
      • Strengthen emotional intelligence, communication skills, and the ability to build trust, collaborate across differences, and develop meaningful relationships with community members, volunteers, and organizational partners.
    • Understanding Human Services & JFSLA’s Impact
      • Explore how JFSLA addresses food insecurity, aging and isolation, new parent and postpartum support needs, mental health challenges, personal crises, and domestic violence through a continuum of services designed to meet people where they are.
    • Nonprofit Leadership, Governance & Engagement
      • Learn about nonprofit board roles and responsibilities, effective governance practices, and the relationship between board members and organizational leadership. Participants will explore pathways for meaningful engagement through volunteerism, committee service, and future board leadership.
    • Fund Development, Storytelling & Mission Advocacy
      • Build confidence in sharing authentic stories, connecting personal experiences to organizational mission, engaging networks, and approaching fundraising as a form of relationship-building and community investment.
    • Creating a Lifelong Practice of Volunteerism & Leadership
      • Explore how individuals can contribute their time, talents, and resources at every stage of life and develop a personal practice of community engagement.
    • Opportunity to Participate in the JPAC Capitol Summit (Encouraged, but not mandatory)
    • Ongoing Mentorship and Networking Opportunities

  • JPAC Summit – 2 days in Sacramento, Spring 2027 (Encouraged, but not mandatory)

To help sustain the high-quality programming and community engagement opportunities we provide, this leadership cohort includes a participation fee of $1,000.

This fee contributes to:

  • Program materials and curriculum
  • Guest speakers and facilitators
  • Delicious kosher dinners
  • Attendance at JFSLA’s Annual Gala

Please note that scholarships are not available for the CIN Plus cohort at this time.

Participants will also have the opportunity to participate in the JPAC Capitol Summit, an optional advocacy and leadership experience. While attendance is encouraged, any associated costs for participation will be the responsibility of the participant.

We’re looking for professionals in their 30s and 40s who:
